Publications Clearances Worked closely with the manager of the information center to identify the requirements for, design and build a workflow application that automated the process for approving papers for publication in an advanced research lab. The workflow was based on the management chain of command in a flat, broad organization. Approval required up to five signatures, based on the draft paper, which is uploaded to to the server for archiving. The web application also provides extensive search capabilities, and also bakes the bibliographic data that appears on the parc.com website. Database connectivity and business logic written in VB Script for Active Server Pages, with extensive use of client side JavaScript for form validation and authors selection. Intellectual Property Designed and developed a search interface and method for displaying invention submissions (disclosures) and dockets stored in a 50,000 record database. Eight different search criteria provide ways to filter records. Keywords and regulare expressions may also be used. User can also specify which fields s/he would like to view in the results. Results are limited to 300 per page, which can also be sorted based on the dynamically chosen fileds. I have also developed a web based interface to classify intellectual property in a lattice framework, methods to prioritize an attorney's docket, and provide comments on a given IP. Developed in VB Script for Active Server Pages with extensive use f client side JavaScript. parc.com Designed data architecture and forms for PARC employment pages using MySQL and PHP, as well as some Microsoft Office programming. The regular job listings have an intranet form for input about jobs. The data is transferred to an external database from which listings are extracted and posted. The application form is dynamically generated based on requirements per position. I developed a six page form for internship applications, allowing applicants to return and update their own applications. References are entered into the database either via web form, attachment to email, or email body. The internship database is synced inside where I developed a search interface and methods for adding comments, and saving 'My Interns' on the intranet. I also provide maintainance for the events and forum code. Electronic Purchase Requisitions Analyzed purchase requisition process and policy and designed and built a system to meet PARC needs. I used a Microsoft Access database and VB Script to code Active Server pages with extensive use f client side JavaScript. System tracks items, and which budget center they are being pruchased for. It checks who has temporary or permanent approving authority at what amounts and traffics approvals for a given requisition appropriately. It allows for sharing expense accross multiple budget centers. It also handles upload of quotes and other documentation Confidential Disclosure Agreements Developed a web form that enters new CDA requests into a database and then sends an email to the appropriate attorney alerting her/him of the request. I wrote code in Microsoft word to mail merge the database record into the correct CDA template and save a version of the mail merge as the CDA number.
